Things I Love Thursday: Caffeine Free Pepsi

About 5 years ago I was having stress related stomach problems that required me to go off of caffeine (including, temporarily, chocolate!), among other diet changes. I like to eat. I like the food I eat. I enjoy it more with a frosty carbonated beverage. Only sprite/sierra mist/7up gives me flashbacks of having the stomach virus as a child.

I started trying the different "regular" caffeine free sodas. And while I've always been a fan of Coca-Cola products (making me the black sheep of my Pepsi family) - their caffeine free drinks taste very flat. Like a can that's been open several days.

I decided to make my family happy and try caffeine free pepsi and caffeine free mountain dew. Amazingly enough you can barely tell a difference! My stomach got better and eventually I made the switch back to the hard stuff - I recently stocked up. I figured with all the stress of the wedding and moving (and packing and painting) my nerves could use a break!

  1. Mmmm... caffeine free Mountain Dew is awesome! I can't drink the real stuff, it will keep me up all night!

  2. My dad can't drink caffeine b/c if he does then he don't sleep. He started drinking caffeine free pepsi a long time ago. I can't tell the difference either. He recently started drink the CF Mt Dew. It's really good to, I just prefer the real stuff. Gotta have my caffeine. Great Post.

  3. I don't do so hot in the morning without my caffeine, but if I indulge late at night it's a disaster! I'm glad to know there are caffeine free versions that taste the same, thanks!

  4. My body doesn't tolerate caffeine either. It keeps me up like crazy. I don't drink soda very often because of it, but if the caffeine free stuff really doesn't taste different, I might have to try it out.

  5. love caf free pepsi too! was prego and nursing for few years straight so now i don't even want to go back. i'm hooked.

  6. I just wanted to put in a little vote for my fave Pepsi product—Diet Pepsi MAX with ginseng, for when I can't quite afford Red Bull! This girl needs her caffeine too.
