Did you shrink?

Today is the last day of the "Shrinking into Summer" challenge over at the Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans. For those of you that aren't in the sisterhood, go over and check it out any way - I did a guest post there today about my Jillian Michael's 30 day Shred experience!

Okay now for the weigh in

Challenge start: 134
Challenge goal: 129
Last week: 131.8
This week: 132.0
Percentage lost: 1.49% (I think...I suck at math - I welcome any help on this!)

So I didn't make my goal, but to be honest I never thought that I would. I haven't been in the 120s in about 5 years. I'm thrilled with the results of this challenge!

I can see (and feel) my body changing. My arms are the first place I noticed a change - Michelle Obama isn't the only one with a right to bare arms!

I'm wearing a dress today. Before when I wore dressed, I'd put a slip under it. Not because I was afraid of what would show through, but because I found a slip that was shorts instead of a skirt. So when I wore it, my leg fat didn't rub together.

I've still got some leg fat to lose, but I already look better than I did. Also, on my way into work, I noticed a line down my calves!

How'd you do this week? What ever the scales say, I hope you aren't getting discouraged. Discouragement has stopped me for years. You are a beautiful woman (unless you are a guy, but I don't think guys visit my blogs) don't let anyone tell you differently!!

  1. Love the guest post! Side lunges KILL me and my knees! I know I need to work on my thighs (like that move does) but my knees can't take it :(

  2. Hmmm, all this talk of eliminating thigh rub has almost got me convinced to spend the money and start Shredding! I've just never stuck with work-out videos for more than a week or so in the past, so I'm still not quite convinced. Throw in the excuse that I don't really have a good place in my home to kick and flail and well, I'll probably be putting it off a little longer!

Congratulations on completing this challenge with impressive results!!

  3. Brooke, I'm so proud of you!! Proud because you've come a long way since joining the Sisterhood! Maybe not in pounds lost, but definitely in attitude and fitness. I remember when you would get so down on yourself and it would break my heart. This is SO hard. Even harder when you don't have much to lose. Keep up the good work and I know you'll see the 120s soon. I just know it!

Thanks for being such a great asset to the Sisterhood. We love you!!

  4. Wow, good for you Brooke! Also, congrats on your guest post:)

Good work with Jillian. I am having a hard time with her.

Good job sticking with the program. I need to think about your blog when I am sitting on the couch and thinking why should I bother. Why...because you did and you are getting postive result:)

  5. I hate leg fat!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats on your overall loss. I, too, am proud of you. A large part of this journey is about HOW YOU FEEL.

I can tell from your recent posts that you are feeling pretty darn good.

  6. YEA!! Hey, not only have you not gained any weight, but you LOST weight!! That's still a great accomplishment.

The hubby bought Wii Active yesterday, and we're doing the 30 day challenge on it. He was huffing and puffing and didn't finish, but I DID! ;) lol!! That's what running for two weeks (thanks to inspiration by YOU!) has done! =D

  8. Just coming over to say hello to a fellow SITSa! :-)
It's funny that you've posted this thread because as member of the BabyCenter Community, I moderate a pretty active weight loss board and we're doing something similar to the stats you posted. We do a Monday weekly weigh-in and while everyone is generally on a different weight loss plan (for me it's the South Beach Diet) there are a couple of people doing the 30 Day Shred. The general consensus was that if the program showed to be fairly effective for the price, then it would be worth the switch to that workout! For now I'm doing TurboJam by Chalene Johnson and having a blast!

Good luck with your fitness goals and I hope we both find success!

  11. I really enjoyed reading your guest post today! Congrats on your weight loss and I agree with what you said about meeting your goal (I was hoping for 120's but doubted I would get there).
That's funny that you got engaged in NYC....we did too! We love it there and visit often (over the summer it's for the baseball though lol).

  12. Congratulations on your weight loss. My legs are giving me issues, too. I just wish I'd wake up one morning and they would be perfect. That's not likely to happen so I guess I better keep exercising.
